BIP-110 and the move to BLAKE2b

After the minority chain stalled with roughly 2.53% historical signaling support, its proof-of-work changed from SHA-256d to BLAKE2b at block 961,640 on August 30, 2026. Bitcoin Knots 29.4.1 now includes the BLAKE2b proof-of-work change, and the related Knots PR #359 is closed. DxPool labels this network XBT, while some services use BTCB2. It is separate from Siacoin and from SHA-256d BTC.

To reduce excessive concentration in one pool, AlphaPool is limiting its connected hashrate to no more than 30% of the total network hashrate.

CAEU04, CAEU14, ARI31 and SC ULTRA can now be configured for XBT (BTCB2) through a compatible BLAKE2b pool as well as for Siacoin. They do not mine both networks simultaneously: choose one target pool and confirm that accepted shares appear after setup. XBT/BTCB2 is separate from SHA-256d BTC. Pool availability, rewards, wallet support and market liquidity can change.
